A Taste of Hawaii Adventure!

Nyamo here!

The summer's nearly up, but I've found myself a nice little vacation spot for now. Where have I adventured to this time? Hawaii! That's right! The amazingly beautiful tropical islands in the middle of the Pacific. It's a big change from being in Chicago for so long, ne?

Being here in Hawaii made me think of the time I adventured with a few friends from IIT's Hawaii Club to Aloha Eats in Chicago. I just had to dig up some pictures from that delicious adventure.

I was soo excited to eat some authentic local Hawaiian food. My friends said the chicken katsu was the best!

The chicken katsu sure looked oishii! And look! Is that a bowl of curry, too?

Taking my first bite of katsu. Mmmmmm! Totemo oishikatta! It was very yummy!

I washed down all that good food with another local Hawaii favorite, fruit punch. Definitely not like the Hawaiian Punch you can buy in the stores. I was surprised!

And there's no better ending to a great adventure with friends than with some dessert. The Hawaii Club members all shared some of this haupia with each other and with me. I wasn't sure I'd like the coconut, but I decided to be adventurous and give it a try, nya. It was interesting!

So, now that I'm in Hawaii, I can taste all these delicious flavors AND MORE! I love trying new food, especially when it's so yummy! =^ω^= And I should have some more Hawaii adventures up soon. I get so carried away with relaxing here that I forget to share my adventures with all of you. =^^=

Aloha!

Adler Planetarium Adventure!

Nyamo here! Today I'll be sharing my adventure to the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. It was a loooong walk from the train station, but it was worth it.

I got to see a lot of displays about our galaxy, the Milky Way. Maybe one day I can adventure in space too!

There was a really long line for this exhibit, and you needed a ticket to go in. Too bad I didn't have one. I heard that you could see stars when you sit in it because there are little holes all around the sphere. Next time I'll know to get a ticket, nyah!

Luckily, I did get tickets to see some movies in 3D! It was really neat! One talked about how 3D movies work, and another one was about all the crazy collisions in space.

This was a replica of a meteorite. It was bigger than I was! It'd be scary to have that falling out of the sky. I read that there was a meteorite that crashed through someone's roof and made a big hole in their house! I really wouldn't want that to happen to me. =>_<=

And like usual, I found some new friends while adventuring. Who knew I'd run into such famous people while I was at the planetarium. Maybe if you visit a museum soon, you'll find some famous people, too!

RedBall Project Adventure!

Nyamo here! Earlier today I was looking through some of my old pictures from 2008 and found these from when the RedBall Project by Kurt Perschke was at Illinois Institute of Technology.

When I first saw it while wandering around on the IIT campus, I was really confused. What was this giant red ball doing under the tube?! Of course, I had to go investigate!

Nani kore? What's that?

As I got a closer look, my excitement grew.

How'd they get that under there? I've never seen anything like it in my adventuring before. Time to take a closer look...

Hmm...

Can you eat it? No...

But you can definitely play with it, nyah~ And it's art, too!

I heard that the Red Ball has been to cities all around the globe. Maybe one day I can travel around the world like that too!

Sushi Adventure!

Nyamo here! Time for another exciting adventure, and like all the best ones, this one involves food! And if you thought it couldn't get any better, it involves my favorite food of all: sushi!

My friends and I went out on an adventure to Chicago's north side to find an all-you-can-eat sushi place called Sushi Para II. It wasn't too hard to find after getting off the Red Line.

Yay! We made it! I can taste the sushi already!

It didn't take long to seat us. That made me really happy. Onaka ga suitakatta! I was really hungry! Ordering was done in rounds with paper sheets where you marked down how many of each kind of sushi you wanted.

Everyone's deep in thought trying to decide which kind of delicious sushi to start with first. Hmm...

I decided to start off with some miso soup. Totemo oishii!! So delicious~!

Everyone was excited as the sushi came out on huge platters. Tada!

Mmm.... Sooo good!

It wasn't long before all the sushi was gone and we really did have as much as we could eat. I definitely want to go back again, nya! Buuut, I heard there are some other fantastic all-you-can eat sushi places to visit in Chicago. Maybe I'll have to adventure there next time.

Halloween Chipotle Adventure!

Nyamo here!

Yesterday was one of my favorite holidays of the year, Halloween! Nya! I was visiting some friends at IIT and they told me about an event Chipotle was having for a Boo-riffic Halloween, where you can get a free burrito for dressing up like a burrito, taco, or taco salad. Of course this adventurer loves free things, so I just had to go. Bring on the aluminum foil!

Here we all are getting dressed up for the burrito-y goodness with foil hats and tails.

Even Beaker from the Muppets loves free burritos!

All wrapped up and ready to go!

Waiting for the train took a while, but that didn't bring our spirits down one bit.

See, it really wasn't that bad of a wait for the train.

After waiting forever in a long line of other burrito enthusiasts, we finally got our free Chipotle!

NOM NOM NOM

Mmm!!! Burritos sure taste better when they're free!

I'm looking forward to going again next year. You should all venture out to a Chipotle for their Boo-riffic Halloween, too.
